Redemption and Restoration.
In her book, Odd Moms Out, Tamar takes you through the lives of five biblical mothers and their distinct stories of adversity. Yet each woman was surprisingly impacted by God’s redemptive grace and selected by the Lord as a chosen descendant within the lineage of Jesus.

Trouble Believing?
You are not alone.
Five biblical mothers included in the genealogy of Christ have detailed stories that would lead each one to wonder how her life could be redeemed and point to Jesus and His gospel message of salvation.
Perhaps you can relate to their scriptural narratives more than you realize:
An infertile woman who provided for her deceased husband’s mother in a foreign country
An unwed, pregnant woman engaged to a man who was not the biological father of her child
A married woman who committed adultery with her husband’s murderer
A twice-widowed, childless woman who arranged an incestuous encounter with her father-in-law
A prostitute woman who hid enemy spies to save her life
Their stories of hope will encourage and challenge you to trust your Savior and rely on His redemptive grace no matter what you face.
Listen to Tamar
Tamar sits down for an interview and shares the inspiration, challenges, and goals of writing her book entitled, Odd Moms Out.

“One thing I know that every woman needs is God’s grace. This book, Odd Moms Out, shows us that despite our circumstances and our choices, if we submit to God, He can truly use our story to show His grace in abundance.”
— Amy Brown, wife to Chris Brown, Senior Pastor of North Coast Church, Vista, CA

Encouraged by God’s Presence
“Tamar is a gifted teacher, terrific mom, and passionate follower of Christ, and all of that shows up in Odd Moms Out. Her ability to speak of the surprising grace that shows up in often surprising ways in lives that look like unlikely candidates is a blessing.”
— Russell Howard, Lead Pastor, McGregor Baptist Church, Ft. Myers, FL

A few things about me…
I am a pastor’s wife of 28 years, and mom of two young adult sons, one in college and the other in high school, who lives with special needs. I thank the Lord for marriage and motherhood as my two primary ministries.
My desire is to glorify my heavenly Father, faithfully follow Jesus my Savior, and consistently study God’s Word. To help with that, I’m thankful for and committed to my local church in SW Florida, where I’ve been a member for the past 22 years. Over the past 20 years I have served in our church’s Women’s Ministry as a Bible teacher, ministry leader, and guest speaker at women’s events. I also have the joy of co-hosting the “Around McGregor” weekly podcast. In addition, I serve on staff at a K-12 private school in their Admissions department. Here’s a little bit more about me and my background.

I was educated at Azusa Pacific University and the University of Texas at Dallas and received my MBA in 2001. As an aspiring author, Odd Moms Out: God’s redemptive grace in the lives of five biblical mothers was my first published book in 2022 by Kharis Publishing. I am grateful and excited to partner again with Kharis Media for publishing my second book, Nameless but Known, scheduled for release in June 2025 (more info about the new book coming soon).
For book promotional purposes, I had the privilege of appearing on popular radio, podcast, and television programs, including “Hope-filled Perspective” with Dr. Michelle Bengtson, on “Greater Impact” with Nina Roesner, and on “The Call” with Nancy Sabato. I was also a guest on “Hope Today”, the live television program produced by Cornerstone Network, a Christian media ministry that spreads the gospel throughout the nation. Additionally, I was a contributor to a devotional book for professionals, scheduled to be released in summer 2025.
When I am not teaching, studying, reading, writing, or completing tasks for my “day job,” I enjoy family time, bike-riding, neighborhood walks, completing crossword puzzles, eating out with friends, and taking occasional naps. Though I love living near the gulf shore beaches, I could do without the humidity and hurricanes. I have been described as real and transparent and tend to display quick-witted humor, as well as ask too many questions; yet I love coffee and may or may not own one too many pairs of Converse sneakers.

My passion is…
to encourage women to love and follow Jesus and intently study His Word by teaching the truth of the Bible and sharing the good news of God’s redemptive grace.
